Hunter's Moon

The full moon illuminated a cloudless sky. Its light played across the ocean waters—broken only by the chop of the waves. From a small island off the coast of the mainland, a keening echoed across the waves—a sound alien to human ears. It called to something below. A serpentine hump broke the surface several yards from the southern point of the island, and a human form waded toward the ripples it left behind. Her pale, feminine form slowly swam to deeper waters, singing her siren’s song. The beast rose up beneath her—a powerful mount for his mistress. She smiled as she stroked the serpent’s back. The hunt had begun.
